Reflection – Spring 06
Monday, 8 May, 2006
Update: I kind of lost my draft for this post when Allen came over the other week. As of this point I am updating my reflection post while sitting on my swanky new floor rocking chair.
Little did I realize that I haven’t been doing my quarterly reflection for a long time. I haven’t done any reflection for the past 6 months, maybe since the last time it snowed here in Seattle. So, to make up for it, I am now isolating myself in my study room, all alone at home, while trying to whip up a satisfactory reflection.
My reflection for this Spring will be sectioned into 3 parts:
- Family and Home Sickness
- Academic and Work
- Future Aspirations and,
- Growing Up
Click on the pages for my reflection.
Family and home-sickness
Well now that my family has come (and left) Seattle, I don’t have to say that I miss them a lot anymore. I don’t know when’s the next time I can get to see my sister again, since our Summer vacations differ by a month or so. Maybe I should go down to CA every fall break, you know, for Xmas or something.
I still think that Singapore is the best place to live, to come from, and to come back to. Oh, besides Indonesia of course. Haha… (nervous laughter).
Academic and Work
I am quite worried with my up-and-coming job responsibility that is Student Govt. Treasurer. I’ve worked closely with the previous treasurers, and have familiarized myself with the job description, but I haven’t really been doing all the work at all.
Well the real concern is actually if I can work and maintain my GPA as it is, if not improve it.
I am supposed to be working together with both Shoreline and UW advisors, but I haven’t made any appointments with them this quarter. And gah, the quarter is ending in less than a month! And the homework and the exams… Ah I don’t even want to go on with that.
Future Aspirations
Fingers crossed, I think I’m going to apply to no less than 9 colleges. That includes MIT, CIT, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, UW, Georgetech and UWisconsis (Madison). Oh shit, that’s already 8 schools. OK I’ll take MIT and CIT off, and apply for UT(Austin) and Purdue. Damn, its not like I’m spoilt for choice la…
Next is to find a decent scholarship to bolster up my resume. Was thinking of this, but prospect doesn’t seem to good.
